This Privacy Policy explains how Chartera ("Chartera," "we," "us") collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you use the Chartera mobile application (the "App") and the website at chartera.pro (together, the "Service").
Please read it carefully. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
Chartera is the operator of the Service and acts as the data controller of personal information collected through it. You can reach us at privacy@chartera.pro.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account identifiers — when you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address, a unique user identifier, and (if you permit it) your display name. We do not receive or store your Apple or Google password.
- Chat input — messages and prompts you send to the in-app AI assistant.
- User preferences — watchlists, saved symbols, chart settings, and other configuration you choose.
- Support communications — messages you send to support@chartera.pro.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device information — device model, operating system version, app version, locale, and time zone.
- Usage data — features used, screens viewed, session duration, performance metrics, and crash diagnostics.
- Network data — IP address and approximate location derived from it (country / region only), recorded in server logs for security and abuse prevention.
2.3 Information from third parties
- Subscription status — Apple provides us with the status of your auto-renewing subscription (active, expired, refunded) so we can grant or revoke in-app access. Apple does not share your payment card details with us.
- Authentication providers — Apple and Google confirm your sign-in and provide the identifiers described in 2.1.
3. How we use your information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
- To authenticate you and manage your account.
- To deliver AI-assisted market analysis based on your queries and watchlists.
- To verify your subscription entitlements with Apple.
- To diagnose crashes, debug issues, and improve reliability and performance.
- To communicate with you about service-related changes and support requests.
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of these terms.
- To comply with applicable laws and lawful requests.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third-party advertisers for cross-app tracking.
4. Legal bases (EEA / UK users)
We process personal data on the following bases under the GDPR / UK GDPR:
- Contract — to provide the Service you request (account, AI chat, subscription).
- Legitimate interests — to secure the Service, prevent abuse, and improve product quality.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain records for tax, accounting, or legal compliance.
- Consent — where required, such as for optional analytics. You may withdraw consent at any time.
5. Service providers we share data with
We share the minimum data needed with trusted processors who help us operate the Service:
- Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication, session management, and account identifiers.
- Apple Inc. — Sign in with Apple, App Store subscription verification.
- AI model providers — processing of your chat prompts to generate analysis responses. Prompts are sent to process your request and are not used by us to train public models.
- Cloud infrastructure providers — hosting our backend, databases, and logs.
- Market data providers — we fetch market data from public feeds; we do not send your personal information to them.
Each processor acts under a written data-processing agreement and may only use your data to deliver services to us.
6. International data transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the one in which you reside, including the United States and the European Union. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy:
- Account data: for the life of your account.
- Chat history: until you delete it in the app or delete your account.
- Subscription records: as required by tax and accounting law (typically 7 years).
- Server logs and crash data: up to 90 days.
When you delete your account (see Section 9), we remove or anonymize your data within 30 days, except where retention is legally required.
8. Security
We protect your information with industry-standard measures: TLS in transit, encryption at rest, restricted engineering access, and regular review of our infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique sign-in method and keep your device software up to date.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and associated data (see /delete-account).
- Export a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise these rights, email privacy@chartera.pro. We respond within 30 days.
10. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, correct inaccurate information, opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not engage in either), and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. Contact privacy@chartera.pro.
11. Children
Chartera is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Third-party services and links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or integrate third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, which we encourage you to review.
